Make It Big
Thanks to Nana and my bro for blessing me with "Volcano High" and "Make It Big" DVD and VCD!!! It's such a goooooooooooood feeling to watch those movies after work!! I really love KSW in "Make It Big"! It's about 3 youths who chanced upon more than 21 billion won on the way out from SSH's (Song Seung Hyun, the Jun-Xi from Autumn in My Heart) place. Accompanying that loot was a body who just fell from a multi-storey bungalow. Assuming that the man was dead, they decided what to do with the corpse. But they wanted the money too, being reckless youths who just wanna make it big while they can. After discussing about what to do with the body, they returned to their car to find the body gone! From there, it escalates into a spiral of events from racking their brains to find ways to keep the money, their extravagance in spending the loot, avoiding the people who are looking for the money, the police, and a serial killer! KSW relishes his role with fervour and comedic delight as a call-boy this time, and I have to admit, since watching SSH acted in Autumn in My Heart, I always thought that this weak fragile thing can only weep all day. I WAS SO WRONG! SSH acts as the repeat student who was an American Born Korean who had a past, which revealed so subtly as the story progresses. I think he's so cool, when he (excuse me for the lack of better words) smokes and curse all day like a true blue NY gangsta. Though it was an ordinary plot film, like Millions, Blue Streak and yada yada, it certainly was a good effort from the Koreans to come up with good cinematography and the casting was great! Providing that the cast was picked before they starred in dramas like Autumn in My Heart, Stairwayst o Heaven, they delivered credible acting, amidst those act-cool, himbotic mannerisms. On the other hand, like what Nana said, "Volcano High" focus wasn't on KSW, but on Jang Hyuk. I loved this movie but din have time to watch it during Poly. But it was so funny man, watching them fight and see the blossoming puppy romance between Jang Hyuk and Shih Min Ae. KSW's a pugilistic kinda guy whom the whole school clamours to have a duel with. Well the thing is he doesn't have a meaty role here so I think I should just end it here. I LOVE KSW! Oh ya, my new colleague remarks that I look like Korean and look like a hip hop dancer! ^_- n. |
